Ignatius is an energy market practitioner with over 25 years’ experience covering the following electricity markets:

• the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM)
• the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) of Western Australia
• the Northwest Interconnected System (NWIS) of Western Australia
• the electricity market in Northern Territory of Australia

He is well-versed on energy market design, policy, operation, commercial and regulatory matters.  Ignatius has authored a number of high impact submissions and policy papers in the WEM and the NEM, through which he has played key roles in shaping the energy policies in these markets.  Ignatius’ solid understanding of the market design principles is enhanced by his broad experience in the energy sector, including successes in technical and commercial roles.  Ignatius has previously held positions as:

• the Assistant Director (Electricity Market Surveillance) at the Western Australia’s Economic Regulation Authority (ERA)
• commercial and regulatory advisor to the CEO at Bluewaters Power
• Senior Advisor at the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC)
• energy procurement specialist at the Fortescue Metals Group and 
• energy trader and strategy analyst at various organizations in the NEM and WEM (including Energy Australia, Synergy and Western Power)
• Principal Consultant at the Energy Market Consulting associates

Ignatius has detailed knowledge of the WEM Rules.  He is also an IBM qualified data scientist.

In addition, he is also knowledgeable and experienced in the electricity sectors of Malaysia,  People's Republic of China, Singapore, New Zealand, and the USA (CAISO, ERCOT and PJM).
